AAEE President Akinori Seki Appointed as Special Foreign Advisor in Binh Phuoc Province, Vietnam! (1)
October 30, Day 1
At 8:00 p.m., AAEE Representative Director Akinori Seki arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. There, he was greeted by members of the Binh Phuoc Union of Friendship Organizations, representing Binh Phuoc Province, from the Binh Phuoc Department of Foreign Affairs, who had spent three hours to meet him. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with an extraordinary welcome. The staff of the coalition were eagerly awaiting his arrival. We drove three hours to Vinh Phuc Province in a blue license plate (government car).
The purpose of this trip was to attend the inauguration ceremony of Representative Director Seki as the official education advisor of Binh Phuoc Province. This is the first time in history that Binh Phuoc Province has officially accepted a foreigner as an advisor to the government. I could sense how significant this visit was from the slightly upbeat and awkward atmosphere. The two Vietnamese student assistants supporting Representative Director Seki could not hide their nervousness in the face of this unprecedented and significant event.
The appointment is expected to be formally decided tomorrow morning during a special assembly that will start at 7:30.
